A compendium of FMSB’s work on precious metals markets collates all three published FMSB Spotlight Reviews on these markets into one document, Compendium: Precious Metals Markets Evolution. The compendium includes forewords from the World Gold Council’s CEO, David Tait who chaired this industry-led initiative, and the London Bullion Market Association CEO, Ruth Crowell, as well as FMSB CEO, Myles McGuinness.

The Compendium looks at key aspects of the precious metals markets, including:

    1.  Market Structure: An analysis of the current state of the precious metals market structure and an exploration of potential evolutions that could enhance transparency, efficiency, and participation.
    2. Post-Trade Processes: An examination of the post-trade landscape which explores opportunities for increased efficiency through the adoption of new technologies and processes.
    3. Data and Transparency: Highlighting the critical role of data and transparency in fostering trust and confidence within the precious metals markets. The paper outlines steps the gold market can take to support the characterisation of gold as a high-quality liquid asset (HQLA).
