FMSB Members felt that there was room for improvement in the way the precious metals markets function to enhance transparency, efficiency and participation in these markets.
Therefore, over the course of several years a Precious Metals Working Group drawn from across FMSB Members came together to debate and examine key aspects of the precious metals markets with the aim of identifying vulnerabilities or inefficiencies in global metals markets; and where appropriate, developing guidance to address or mitigate such risks. They produced three Spotlight Reviews, examining aspects of the markets in depth and outlined opportunities for enhancement and offered suggestions for heightening market transparency and efficiency.
