Financial Markets Standards Board (FMSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of its first APAC-based Board Director, Peter Warne.

Peter has had a distinguished career in financial services spanning 40 years and stepped down as Chair of Macquarie Group in 2022 after six years in the role. Over the course of his career, he has served on the board of a number of ASX-listed and private companies and Government bodies, including ASX Limited and TCorp; prior to which he had a long and highly successful executive career at Bankers Trust Australia Limited, where he headed the Global Financial Markets Group. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of UniSuper. Peter will be based in Sydney.

FMSB Chair Jonathan Moulds said:
“Peter is a highly respected leader, both in Australia and internationally. He has a deep understanding of the complex financial and non-financial risks institutions face, and we look forward to the valuable insight he will bring to the Board on both market conduct and the fairness and effectiveness of markets.

We are pleased to welcome him to the FMSB Limited Board, adding an international dimension and touchpoint for FMSB in APAC, a region where a number of FMSB Members are based and where other Members have significant operations.”

Peter Warne said:
“FMSB has proven itself a global force in shaping respected, practical industry Standards and Good Practice in areas where it’s vital that industry leads. Its output is valued by firms and regulators alike across the world. I look forward to working with Jonathan and the wider FMSB Limited Board and further expanding the organisation’s international reach and influence for the benefit of all market participants.”

Peter will join the FMSB Limited Board as a Non-Executive Director on 1 August 2025.
